What is Lingoberry?
Lingoberry is an AI-powered language learning app that focuses on producing the language, not just recognising it. You translate, write, speak, and listen — and Pip, your fairy-like lingonberry guide, gives detailed feedback on what you got right and what needs work.
How does Lingoberry work?
You pick a topic, choose your proficiency level (A1–C2), and Lingoberry generates an exercise. After you complete it, Pip reviews your work and provides structured feedback: a score, grammar corrections, vocabulary suggestions, and style notes. Every session makes you produce real language.
What languages can I learn?
Lingoberry currently supports Spanish, Portuguese (European and Brazilian), Swedish, and Finnish as target languages. The teaching language (the language Pip uses to explain things) can be English, Finnish, or Swedish, depending on the pair. We add languages carefully — each one needs reliable generation, evaluation, and text-to-speech.
What are CEFR levels?
CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference) levels range from A1 (beginner) to C2 (mastery). Lingoberry uses these levels to pitch exercises at the right difficulty. You can set your level per language and adjust it as you improve.
Is Lingoberry free?
Yes, the core experience is free. Free users get up to 5 exercises per day with ads. Premium removes the daily cap and the ads for a monthly or yearly subscription. See the pricing page for details.
What types of exercises are there?
Lingoberry offers six exercise types: Translation (translate a paragraph), Conversation (chat with Pip in a scenario), Reading Comprehension (answer questions about a passage), Dictation (type what you hear), Fill in the Blank (complete sentences with correct word forms), and Word Bank (arrange word chips into the correct order).
Who is Pip?
Pip is Lingoberry's AI-powered guide — a fairy-like lingonberry character who writes exercises, evaluates your work, and delivers feedback. Pip is encouraging, playful, and occasionally makes berry-themed puns. Definitely a lingonberry, not a blueberry.
How do I track my progress?
Your dashboard shows your exercise history, scores, and current streak. Lingoberry tracks daily streaks to help you build a habit, and the leaderboard lets you see how you compare with other learners.
Can I use Lingoberry on my phone?
Yes. Lingoberry is a Progressive Web App (PWA), which means you can add it to your home screen on iOS or Android and use it like a native app — no app store download required.
How do I change my target language?
Go to your dashboard and use the language picker at the top. You can have multiple language pairs (e.g., learning Spanish with English explanations and Finnish with Swedish explanations) and switch between them anytime.
What happens to my data?
Your exercises and feedback are stored so you can review them later. We don't sell your data or use it to train AI models. See our Privacy Policy for full details on data handling and your GDPR rights.
How do I delete my account?
Go to your profile page and scroll to the bottom. There's a 'Delete account' option that permanently removes your account and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
I found a bug or have feedback — how do I report it?
